Description
The General Pump Kit 172 is a heavy-duty seal replacement set designed for the TSF Series (specifically the 22mm versions). These pumps are the “workhorses” of the pressure washing industry, often found on large-scale industrial rigs and truck-mount systems that require high volume and high pressure.
This kit provides all the necessary components to service all three (3) cylinders.
Compatibility
Kit 172 is the OEM standard for TSF models with 22mm plungers, including:
-
TSF Series: TSF2221, TSF2421.
-
Common Brands: Often found on premium industrial equipment from brands like Landy, Hotsy, and Landa.
-
Note: The TSF series also comes in 20mm (Kit 171) and 24mm (Kit 173) sizes. Always verify your plunger diameter, as these parts look identical but are not interchangeable.
Kit Contents
This kit contains the complete “long-life” seal stack (15 pieces total):
| Quantity | Part Number | Component | Function |
| 3 | 90276500 | Packing (High Pressure) | The primary 22mm V-seal for pressure containment. |
| 3 | 90276200 | Restrainer / Low-Pressure Seal | Prevents leakage on the suction stroke. |
| 3 | 90276400 | Intermediate Ring | Provides alignment and spacing for the seal stack. |
| 3 | 90385900 | O-Ring | Seals the outer diameter of the brass seal retainer. |
| 3 | 90516500 | Anti-Extrusion Ring | Back-up ring to prevent seal deformation under load. |
When to Replace (Symptoms)
-
Manifold “Sweating”: Water dripping from the weep holes at the bottom of the brass manifold head.
-
Pressure Drop: Loss of 300–500 PSI or a needle that won’t stay steady on the gauge.
-
Pulsating Hose: If one cylinder’s seals fail before the others, the flow will become uneven, causing the hose to vibrate.
-
Milky Oil: Water bypassing the low-pressure seals and entering the crankcase through the oil seals.
