The balancer assembly is a critical internal component designed to counteract the secondary vibrations inherent in large single-cylinder engines. By rotating in the opposite direction of the crankshaft, the balancer shaft significantly reduces the “thumping” and harmonic vibration that would otherwise fatigue the engine components and the equipment frame.
