Description
A 1/4″ 45-Degree High-Pressure Elbow is a specialized forged fitting used to create subtle directional changes in hydraulic or high-pressure water systems. Unlike standard 150# cast fittings, this is a High-Pressure (often 3000# or 6000# class) forged component designed to handle extreme stress without bursting.
Key Features
-
45-Degree Angle: Provides a gentler turn than a standard 90-degree elbow. This reduces turbulence and pressure drop within the line and is often used to “kick” a gauge or hose away from an engine or frame at an angle.
-
Forged Carbon Steel: Typically manufactured from ASTM A105 carbon steel. Unlike stainless steel, carbon steel is prone to rust if exposed to water or chemicals (like bleach), so these are usually Zinc Plated or Black Phosphate coated for protection.
-
5000 PSI Working Pressure: This rating far exceeds standard plumbing. It is designed for the discharge side of high-pressure pumps (e.g., 3500–5000 PSI units) where a cast fitting would catastrophically fail.
-
1/4″ FPT (Female Pipe Thread): Tapered internal threads on both ends designed for a high-pressure NPT seal.

Common Applications
-
Hydraulic Systems: Routing high-pressure oil lines in industrial machinery where space is tight.
-
Pressure Washer Discharge: Angling the high-pressure outlet on a pump to prevent the hose from kinking against the machine frame.
-
Gauge Positioning: Mounting a pressure gauge at a 45-de
