These 18mm plungers are the most common size for mid-to-high range AR triplex pumps. Because these pumps often run at $3,000$ to $4,000$ PSI, the ceramic can develop hairline cracks from thermal shock (running the pump bypass for too long) or “frosting” from abrasive minerals in the water.
